How to apply for an Extension of Time to hold an Annual General Meeting

Holding an Annual General Meeting (AGM) is a statutory requirement. However, in certain situations, a company may not be able to hold the AGM within the stipulated timeframe. If so, the company may submit an application to the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) for an Extension of Time (EOT). The maximum extension is sixty days.

An EOT application can be made by an officer of the company, namely a director or a secretary. You may also engage a registered filing agent to file the application.

Reasons for the EOT application must be provided during the application process.

The processing time is 14 working days and it may take longer than 14 working days if clarifications are required from ACRA. As such, applications and payments should be submitted more than 14 days in advance.

Yours Sincerely,
The editorial team at ACRA Filing Agent.
